Cakes and Wine Ceremony
What is a cakes and wine ceremony? It is the process of using food and drink to replenish the energy spent doing the working or ritual. Food also helps you to ground. Why is grounding important? It helps you shed the extra energy that you may have accumulated during your working. We raise energy to do our workings and when we are finished we need to shed that energy. For that we use this ceremony, which also helps replenish your body of the energy it used to do the magick. So the ceremony has a dual purpose.
For this ceremony you first must bless the food and drink. You begin with the wine or juice.
1) Take the cup from your altar and pour the wine or juice into it. Then take the athame and dip its tip into the wine or juice. Say:
As the athame is the male, so the cup is the female, and so joined bring union and harmony.
2) Pour some of your blessed wine or juice into the offering bowl or plate on your altar. While doing this say:
To the Gods!
You can now partake in the beverage.
3) Take your athame and point it over the cake. Say:
Blessed be these cakes that they bestow health, peace, joy, strength, and that fulfillment of love that is perpetual happiness.
4) Take one of the cakes (or just a piece of the cake) and place it in the offering bowl or plate. Say:
To the Gods!
You can now partake of the blessed cakes.
Note that this ritual was written for someone practicing alone. If it is conducted in a group, pass around the cup and the cakes, each person taking a sip and one of or part of the cake. As each person passes the wine and cake, they should say to the next person:
As you hand the cup to another say: May you never thirst.
The person replys to this: Blessed Be.
As you offer a cake say: May you never hunger.
When the cake(s) is offered to you reply: Blessed Be.

Hello, im new here and i can say im starting to mystically engrossed reading your blogs. I wanted to try this spell for a good purpose especially for the needy closest to me. Following step one, what is the athame being referred to as the male? And then in ending, how do it close when it is only being practice alone. Please enlighten me more, thanks and more power

The athame represents the male phallus and the cup the woman’s womb. When practicing alone you can place the cup on the altar and then you hold the athame and lower it into the cup of wine/juice.

Hello! I am working on a self dedication ritual for myself, I hope to perform it at the next available full moon. I have referenced various web sites and books while writing my ritual. I very much like your Cakes and Wine Ceremony. Actually, I find your entire site very helpful and engrossing. My question is: Is this ceremony something you do each time you have cakes and wine? And, during my initial consecration of my tools, etc…, do I need to also consecrate the cakes and wine I will be using in that ritual? Does the Cakes and Wine Ceremony automatically consecrate the decanter holding the wine, chalices holding the wine, serving plate the cake initially occupies? Wow, that is more than “a” question. Yes, the process is “cast circle,” “do working,” “do the cakes and wine ceremony,” “close the circle.”
So, each time you do a working (Spell work or other rites) you would have the cakes and wine ceremony after that and before you close circle.
As for your question: And, during my initial consecration of my tools, etc…, do I need to also consecrate the cakes and wine I will be using in that ritual?
You will do the consecration at the time of the cakes and wine ceremony.
As for your question: Does the Cakes and Wine Ceremony automatically consecrate the decanter holding the wine, chalices holding the wine, serving plate the cake initially occupies?
It only blesses the chalice once that is done you can place a drop of the consecrated wine into the decanter. In that way, it becomes blessed. As for the cakes, place all the cake(s) on a dish and bless them all at the same time. You can also put a drop on the cakes from the wine for good measure if you like.

I am new to your blog- year 2020! 🙂 Yep, you are still reaching the masses. I do have a question regarding the wine and cakes? Once I have made my offerings to the gods, upon my altar…what do I ‘do’ with them after? I am almost certain I do not leave them there for eternity- not positive hence the question. And I know it is probably quite dumb but I honestly do not know. Brightest of Blessings

No question is dumb.
The offerings that are left on the altar for the Gods or other entities are usually left in your garden or other natural space.
Some also burry them. But I find that isn’t necessary.
If you don’t have a backyard or garden, you can take them to the park. You can place them in a shrub or bush so they are out of the way. Just make sure that everything is biodegradable (after all it is just cake and wine, no wrappers and such) and won’t pollute the environment.
