Goddess Invites You to “Show Up” (A Witch’s Perspective)

“How did you show up on your path to earning a third degree in Gardnerian Wicca?” Cythia, someone in my circle, asked.

I replied, talking about how I traveled 60 miles round trip, over and over again, to learn from my spiritual elders. I could see in my elders’ faces. They were proud of me for showing up.

When I felt the intuitive call to start my blog in 2012, I was inspired to show up every week.

My own spiritual practice deepened because I had to be fully present and alert to facets of my spiritual path.

When I first learned about the Tarot from my spiritual elders, I was intimidated.
I have dyslexia. Reading a bunch of material was daunting to me.

But I kept showing up to learn more and more. I read books. I did research.

I also learned that reading a Tarot spread can be a “process of the heart.”

It’s not only about memorizing textbook definitions of each card.

Let’s pause a moment.

In your spiritual practice, what do you need to show up for?

Is there some area of your spiritual practice that you want to devote yourself to learning?

May these insights support your path.

Blessed Be,
Moonwater

Give Yourself the Tarot Advantage Before You Make a Decision (A Witch’s Perspective)

“I realized that every decision is like making a bet,” Nancy, a person in my circle, said.

“How so?” I asked.

“You don’t have all the information. Even if you make a rational decision, there’s an element of luck involved,” she said.

I reflected on this.

We, witches, can have an advantage.

You could decide to include Tarot Cards in your practice of the Craft.

Here are helpful insights.

1. Prepare your energy before you do a spread of Tarot Cards.

“The magic begins in you. Feel your own energy, and realize similar energy exists within the Earth, stones, plants, water, wind, fire, colours, and animals.” – Scott Cunningham

Pay attention to your current state of energy. Are you okay? Are you exhausted?

Here’s the important point: If you are upset, you could read a Tarot Spread incorrectly. This incorrect reading could further fuel your problems.

Instead, make sure to first ground and center your energy.

    2. Use a dedicated Tarot cloth for your spread of Tarot Cards.

The purpose here is to keep the energy of your spread of cards separate from other energies. This is also important if you travel and do a spread in different places.

    Other benefits include:

    1. Keep your cards clean.
    2. This also provides part of a good ritual.

    3. Make sure your question is precise.

A vague question can lead to a muddy answer.

Here are examples of better questions:

    1. What step do I need to take to increase my financial abundance?
    2. Will I meet a good business contact at the Networking Event on Elm Street today?

    Let’s Pull This All Together

Making better decisions can include a careful and well-thought-out approach to using Tarot Cards.

May these insights support your path.

    Blessed Be,
    Moonwater
