“I can’t decide,” my friend, Sandra, said.
“Can you use your intuition?” I asked.
“I don’t know how,” she said. Her face fell into a frown.
Do you have trouble knowing how to access your intuition?
Many of us find that we have different “voices” (thoughts) that show up.
Is it intuition talking? Or fear? Or even the voice of a parent who did not believe in you?
I have three insights for you.
- Find where in your body you feel intuition.
I sometimes feel intuition in my chest or the back of my head.
Pay attention to where you feel your intuition. Some of us feel it in the abdomen—a gut feeling.
Noticing where you feel your intuition can help you act on it.
The question is: “How can I know if my intuition is really working?”
2. Log it: “Did it work?”
Use a journal or log and record the intuitive feeling, your actions, and the results.
One of my friends, Sam, told me a story. He met a top-level speaker-author at an event. Audience members were supposed to pay a high fee for a photo with that speaker-author. So, Sam, did as he was told and did not ask for a photo. Then, a woman stepped up to the speaker-author and asked, “Can we do a photo?”
“Sure,” he replied. After the woman gained the photo, the speaker-author was called away.
Sam told me that he realized that his on-the-spot feeling was not intuition. “The feeling was fear,” Sam said.
Using your journal or My Intuition Log will help you identify where you feel your intuition and whether a feeling is something other than intuition.
One of my friends says, “Intuition is open. It is try this. Fear is closed. It is hide and do not take an appropriate risk.”
After you have been logging your intuition for a while, you can see your successes. You will improve your connection with your intuition. You will likely become more accurate in your actions.
3. Do a Candle Ritual to strengthen your connection with your intuition.
You can do a ritual to help you connect with your intuition.
Connect with Intuition Ritual
You will need:
- One blue candle
- Ritual tools
- Cakes and Wine
Then, light the candle and say:
Lord and Lady,
Strengthen the Voice of Intuition
Quiet Down the Voice of Fear
Free me of indecision.
Enfold me in Your arms
Elevate my courage.
So Mote It Be.
Let the candle burn all the way down and out on its own.
[Warning: Do not leave a candle to burn unattended.]
Do the Cakes and Wine part of the ritual.
Finally, close the Circle.
