When Friends Leave and the Gods Open a Door

Have you seen friends abandon you because of your Wiccan faith?

Three former friends come to mind.
They’re gone.
I miss them.

But then I realize this question: “What will I dwell upon?”

Imagine the Goddess was here to coach me.
She might say, “Moonwater, let this go. It’s all right.”

Or…

The God might coach me with this comment: “Who cares? Let them go.”

Well, let’s look at that “Who cares?” part.

It reminds me: “Does caring about the people who chose to leave my life help me at all?”

We’re talking about how we experience our daily life.

If I think about the former friends whose prejudices led them to leave … it won’t change anything. Except it drains my energy. Thinking about them makes me feel bad.

But I could dwell upon a completely different idea.

When a friend chose to reject me due to Wicca, they closed a chapter of my life. A chapter that had them in it.

One thing is: A “fair weather friend” leaves … and my schedule opens for other people to come in.

Okay.

Here’s a prayer you can use:

Lord and Lady,
Help me not dwell on the doors that shut in my life
And help me heal from the loss of the friends who leave.
May I dwell in your Divine Shining Light.
So Mote It Be

May these insights support your path.

Blessed Be,
Moonwater
