“This book is pushing a wild idea,” my friend, Alice, said.
“Oh?” I replied.
“This author, Tracy Dennis-Tiwary, PhD, wrote: ‘Anxiety has evolved to make us more resourceful in the face of uncertainty,’” Alice said.
I reflected on this.
Here are two insights.
1. A Witch Looks to Nature
We, as witches, observe the seasons.
In the Fall, a squirrel gathers nuts. Does it gather while in full anxiety? “Oh! I’d better gather these nuts or I will die!”
Who knows?
Still, we can take an anxiety thought and use it as a springboard.
Anxiety-Thought: Oh! I’ll crash and burn at the job interview.
Natural Shift: “Got to prepare. I’ll rehearse with my good friend, Robin. Maybe I’ll hire a coach.”
How do you need to prepare? Then, you emerge from worry into a more resourceful version of yourself.
2. Call on the Goddess.
Here’s a prayer you can use.
Goddess,
Let me pivot my anxiety into a springboard for a helpful thought.
Help me see the opportunity in my situation.
So Mote It Be.
May these insights support your journey.
Blessed Be,
Moonwater
