Honoring the Seasons of a Relationship (a Witch’s Perspective)

“What does it mean to live a lifetime in a day?” Sherry, someone in my circle, asked.

“When you wake up, it’s the season of Spring. Things are new,” I replied. “The daytime is the Summer. The evening is Fall, while you’re preparing for rest,” I continued. “Winter is when you’re sleeping.”

“I think my relationship with Gerard is in Winter,” Sherry interrupted.

We talked further.

I recalled this poem by Doreen Valiente.

“The birth and rebirth of all nature,
The passing of winter and spring,
We share with the life universal,
Rejoice in the magical ring.” – Doreen Valiente

Sherry looked at the wedding ring on her finger. She frowned.

“Do the seasons also apply to a romantic relationship?” she asked.

“They could,” I said.

Here is a prayer you can use.

Lord and Lady,
As the Cycle of Life turns, turns and turns,
Life and death in their beautiful dance,
Chapters end, and new ones begin.
May I rejoice in the Cycle.
And find fulfillment and joy in the process.
So Mote It Be

May these insights support your journey.

Blessed Be,
Moonwater
