How Witches Handle a Situation Where There Are No Good Alternatives Ep. 46 By Moonwater SilverClaw.

“Oh, dear Gods, I’m an idiot!” I said. Out loud. Why? Because I had tried to reformat a thumb drive, but I possibly brushed a key and … The computer reformatted the main hard drive!
Disaster. Years of data gone!
Instantly, I was absolutely furious with myself.
Later, after calming down and beginning a 26-hour ordeal of working to get some of my data back, I thought about how I’d like to change for the better. I’d like to stop beating myself up emotionally.
Have you thought about how you could do better if you could make a healthy change?
I went on a quest to learn about change.
These two quotes seized my attention:
“The greatest and most important problems of life are all fundamentally insoluble. They can never be solved but only outgrown.” – Carl Jung
“… let there be beauty and strength, power and compassion, honour and humility, mirth and reverence within you.” – Doreen Valiente writing in the voice of the Goddess—in The Charge of The Goddess
I had a couple of insights about changing for the better.
At a certain point, after the hard drive disaster happened, I shifted to a moment when I told myself, “It’s gone. All I can do is recover what I can.” From this moment, I experienced a bit of calm acceptance. Then, I started to methodically lookup on cnet.com the possible software program I could get to recover the data.
I prayed, “Dear Gods, help me find a way to recover the data. Stay with me through the process.” The Goddess talks about combinations like “honor and humility.” I’m reminded of how we can all make mistakes, and compassion is necessary.
I also learned something else. It’s good to develop a “Big Trouble Tool Kit.” Recently, I was reflecting on this situation, and I realized that I didn’t think to do a Candle Lighting Ritual. It would have been good for me to have something written down. It reminds me of “In case of fire, break glass.”
So, in case of big trouble, here is a Candle Lighting Ritual Prayer:
Dear Gods, I feel devastated.
Guide me on the path to calm acceptance.
Guide me to take appropriate actions
For a better outcome than I can see now.
Thank You.
So Mote It Be.
May this process support you.
Blessed Be,
Moonwater

Can you relate to this? At 8 years old, I was a little girl tormented by my brother (three years older), while my parents ignored the situation. No one was protecting me. What was my reaction? I hated myself. I hated that I was small, weak and the object of abuse. I was upset, and I had no where to send it. So, I turned the anger in on myself.
Have you experienced self-loathing?
In my late teens, I found the Craft. I realized that the Gods loved me. If I was worthy of Their Love, I could love myself, too.
A Profound Shift from Self-Loathing
Consider making a daily list of three things you’re grateful for. Many people find that they can shift from one perception to another—if they make the choice again and again.
You might write:
I am thankful for my sense of humor.
I am thankful for my family and friends.
I am grateful for listening to music.
A Ritual to Shift Out of Self-Loathing
What you will need:
Begin by casting your Circle.
Bless and consecrate the items you will be using.
Dress your candle (rub from tip to base of the candle, using the oil).
One by one take a pin and say out loud the blessing you are grateful for. Press the pin into the candle. (you can use the working candle’s flame to heat the pins, so they go in easier.
Put the candle in its holder on the tray.
Light the candle and say:
Pins, pins all around,
Pins, pins fall to the ground.
Thank you, Gods, for my good fortune.
Dear Gods release me from self-loathing.
Help me know my divine value.
Help me walk in gratitude on my path.
As I so will, So Mote It Be!
Do the Cakes and Wine Ceremony.
[Special note: Let the candle burn completely, and do not leave a burning candle unattended.]
May this ritual support you to feel better—at least for moments every day.
Blessed Be,
Moonwater

How Witches Handle Feeling Lost Ep.45

On a camping trip with friends, I had a surprising, spiritual experience. One afternoon, I told my friends that I was going to take about an hour to have quiet time by myself. I walked about fifty yards away from our campsite. Alone, I heard a gentle rustle of trees in a gentle breeze. As I sat in a beautiful grove of redwood trees, I decided to talk to higher power (I was not Wiccan yet.) So, I quieted myself down, breathed in the mossy fragrance in the nice cool air, and put out my intention. Then … I felt this Presence. In my mind, I could sense the presence of The Horned Lord.
I wasn’t expecting this at all. I wasn’t afraid. All I felt was compassion and love.
Are you intrigued about having a direct experience of the Deity?
Here are three key practices to help you approach and achieve this connection.
Meditation can bring us down deep to our inner world. We can explore the workings of our subconscious mind. Through that door, we can meet the God and the Goddess. In Doreen Valiente’s Charge of the Goddess, she writes in the voice of the Goddess and says,
And thou who thinkest to seek for me, know thy seeking and yearning shall avail thee not, unless thou know this mystery: that if that which thou seekest thou findest not within thee, thou wilt never find it without thee.
In this excerpt of The Charge, we find a key insight: We find the Goddess and the God within ourselves. And the tool witches use to go within is meditation.
Having a healthy body is also important to help find the Gods within ourselves. Eating from and of the Earth is the healthiest way to do this. I have written on this with my book, Goddess Style Weight Loss I also offer a modest priced (during Udemy’s discount hours) online course Goddess Style Weight Loss at Udemy.com.
When you eat in a mindful way and do the rituals I share in my online course, you enhance your personal energy. This is a great way to facilitate how you connect closely with the Gods.
Did you know that a fit body helps one meditate? How? Sometimes, we get distracted and forget that having a healthy circulation system assists in brain health.
Wiccans know that having a fit body can create a lot more energy than the feeble attempts with an ill body. Our body is a temple to the God and the Goddess. Having it in good running order honors Them. And eating healthy food and getting appropriate exercise is part of having a fit body.
I’m using the words fit body with care. Wiccans know that having a model’s body (significantly thin with ribs showing) does not equate to health.
Our body is our vehicle. We keep it tuned up for our travels to the Gods.
May these insights be helpful for your journey.
Blessed Be,
Moonwater

How Witches Can Feel the Rapture of Infinite Joy Ep. 44

Have you found that feeling tired—or having no extra time—has kept you from doing ritual?
We, Wiccans, know about holding an Esbat ritual during the full moon each month.
We also have the Sabbats that occur at specific times. They follow the Wheel of the Year.
Here’s a real solution. Connect your moments of worship of the God and Goddess with something you do as a natural part of the day.
For example, I have a friend who does daily exercises. Just before he begins his back-stretching exercises, he says, “Thank you, God and Goddess.” It just takes a moment. He tells me that it blesses his life.
You can use a ritual of massaging your feet with oil while you say a prayer of thanks—before you go to sleep for the night.
Here is a prayer you can use just before you brush your teeth in the morning.
Prayer of “Thank You for This Day”
Bless me, Goddess, this day
Guide me on my way
May I stay on the path
And grow in the Craft
May I express my best
‘Til night when I rest.
Thank you, Goddess.
So Mote It Be.
May this process bless your life.
Blessed Be,
Moonwater

How Witches Have Ecstatic Experiences with Goddess Ep. 43

Have you felt stuck recently? If so, I am with you.
I’ve noticed that when I’ve managed to get unstuck it was a process of letting go.
Letting go of what?
Sometimes, it is letting go of who I was in an earlier season of life.
For example, when I was in college, a couple of professors talked down to me. One would not even believe that I was formally diagnosed with dyslexia.
Eventually, I had to shed the identity of “not a writer.”
Now, I’m a writer who has the help of editors.
I’m grateful to my editors.
How about you? Do you have old wounds that you would like to heal?
Would you like to step into a new season of your life?
Here is a prayer to support your process.
Prayer for Who You Are Becoming
Goddess,
Help me let go of what I was
And reveal to me who I am becoming.
Let the joy of this new season wash over me
Like the rains of Spring
May my Spirt grow and blossom
I am grateful.
May this process bless your life.
Blessings,
Moonwater
