What are you thankful for? Have you heard that Mabon is the witches’ Thanksgiving? This is the time of year where we count our blessings, and we express gratitude for positive things in our lives.
A good activity is to write a list of things you’re thankful for and your related reasons.
Make a Sigil of Thanksgiving
You can use a phrase like:
“I am thankful for _____ [for example, ‘my friends’]”
Create a Simple Solo-Ritual for Mabon
You can do a simple solo ritual like this…
Ritual of Thanksgiving
When: On a waxing or full moon.
What you will need:
- Sigil or sigils
- Wine or juice that is red in color
- Safe vessel for burning your sigil (a cauldron works well for this)
- Heatproof surface
- Tools for Casting Circle
- New clean small piece of paper
- Cakes and Wine
Cleanse and consecrate all your items.
Create your thanksgiving sigil.
When your sigil is done, cleanse it.
Waft over incense smoke.
Then charge your sigil with these next actions. Concentrate on what you are thankful for. Once you have these thoughts firm in your mind, take a deep breath in and blow your intention on the sigil.
Then, you bless your wine/juice. Anoint the sigil with some of the liquid.
Speak aloud what you are thankful for and why.
Light the sigil on your working candle and place it carefully into your heatproof vessel.
Pour a libation of your wine/juice to the God and Goddess. (You’re pouring some liquid onto the ground.)
Make sure your sigil has burned completely to ash.
Do the Cakes and Wine ritual.
May these processes support your life path.
