“What is a lesson that the universe has hit you with multiple times?” my friend, Sandra, asked me.
“Don’t believe what they say,” I replied. Now, that started a conversation.
At this moment, I invite you to consider what lesson God and Goddess would like you to learn.
They want you to grow and thrive in this incarnation. But some people may not want you to thrive.
We, as witches, need to be careful about whose advice we accept.
I have three insights for you.
- Ask yourself: “Does this person really want anything good for me?”
Sometimes, it’s hard to tell when someone is really on your side. I like this old story:
One terribly cold winter, a rabbit crawled through the woods. He collapsed and froze on the ground. A moose came by and dropped some dung on him. The frozen rabbit warmed up. He felt warm and happy. Soon, a bear ambled by, discovered the rabbit, dug him out, and ate him.
Moral of the story… Not everyone who craps on you is your enemy. Not everyone who gets you out of crap is your friend.
So how can you tell who is a friend and who has something of value to contribute to your life?
First, stay observant. Slow down. Pay attention. Pray to the Gods for insight.
Ask yourself:
- Does this person want anything good for me?
- Does this person have experience, knowledge, or insight that is relevant to my life goals?
- Does this person have the space to push past their own negativity to be kind to me?
- Is being in a relationship with this person healthy for me?
Carefully consider your own heartfelt answers to these questions.
- Ask yourself: “What lesson have I been ducking?”
The Gods want you to grow. It can be painful. But in the end, you bloom into a new you. Stronger and more capable.
So how do you know you are failing to learn a lesson?
- Does the same situation keep coming up?
- Do you always avoid certain situations?
- Do you feel stuck in this chapter of your life?
As a child, I was constantly teased and berated. Can you relate to this?
This bad treatment happened over and over. I didn’t learn my lesson until much later in life.
That lesson was to stand up for myself and to speak up.
To this day, I must employ the lesson of standing up for myself and my family. Recently, I have been standing up to a vendor who has done unfair things. I will not stop until the situation is fairly resolved.
How about you? Have you ducked a life lesson?
How can you improve your own life?
3. Learn what the God and Goddess want you to know.
Talking to the Gods is important. The Gods want to speak to Their children. Talking to Them is a great way to learn and grow.
You can talk with the Gods through prayer, meditation, and ritual.
The Gods can give you good insights.
Ask Them for illumination and guidance.
May these insights support your path.
Blessed Be,
