How Witches Deal with Doubting Their Own Power

“I can’t see auras. I’m just bad at this,” my friend, Lynn, said.

It also bothered her that she wasn’t manifesting prosperity.

Here are three insights:

  1. Release yourself from the comparison trap.

When I started out, I looked at other practitioners and thought “I can’t be like them. They have real skills.”

I did not realize that each practitioner is on their own path.

My path would be different. Even today, I still have whispers of those doubts.

Comparison does not help me. It drains me of vital energy.

Realize that comparison is a trap. You can only shine in your individual way.

How do you release yourself from the comparison trap?

  • Catch yourself thinking “comparison thoughts.”
  • Take a breath.
  • Say a prayer like: “Lady of the Moon. Help me let go of this comparison thought. My own value is unique. I make a positive and unique contribution wherever I am.”
  1. Keep an accurate BOS.

Instead of comparing yourself to others, compare your current progress with where you were before.

It helps to keep an accurate Book of Shadows (BOS). That’s how you see what works and what needs improvement. As you try new rituals and spells, you can log your progress. You will have evidence and not vague speculation.

  1. Ask the Gods to help you heal from “comparison thought patterns.”

You may need support to release yourself from thoughts that keep you stuck in comparison. Such thoughts feed your doubts and deny your unique power. Your power can help you manifest healing, prosperity, and your best life.

For healing, you can ask the Gods to help you live your gift of uniqueness. You can do this in ritual, meditation, and prayer.

Prayer of Healing from Comparison

Lord and Lady,
Help me see my potential.
Guide me on my unique path.
Help me break the chains of comparison.
May I heal and transform.
Let me bask in my unique qualities as a witch.
So Mote It Be.

May these insights support your path.

Blessed Be,
Moonwater

  1. This makes so much sense. I had that problem regarding beauty. I used to always look down on myself and wish I looked like someone else. It wasn’t until my 50s I really started appreciating what I looked like. Then, like magic (no pun intended), I didn’t mind looking in the mirror, even when I was sick and not up to par. Almost every day my hair started looking nice. I stopped getting pimples and dry patches on my skin. Now I can appreciate the beauty in other women, but be happy about my own uniqueness. 🙂
