How Witches Avoid Feeding the Anger – Ep. 147
“That’s it. I’m out of energy,” Sarah, a friend, said. “I don’t know how I’m going to keep up this pace.”
“What’s going on?” I asked.
This led us to an important conversation about stress, energy, and peace.
I realize that we have a metaphorical well of energy. We must make decisions and take action to refill that well of energy.
Here are three insights so you can consciously fill your well.
When I feel depleted by the world, I say a prayer to help refill my energy well. Here is an example of a prayer.
The Refill My Well Prayer
Dear Lord and Lady,
Refill my well of energy
Let my well flow strong,
And release what’s wrong.
Let my strength and energy surge,
And my healthy energy emerge.
So mote it be.
2. Experience meditation.
I have a guided meditation for you that I created for my podcast. It’s called the Goddess Kindness Meditation.
This Goddess Kindness Meditation can help you transform your stress and feel a connection with Goddess and all Her children.
Sometimes when I can’t sleep, I ask the Goddess to help me fall asleep. I say a prayer like:
Goddess Bless My Sleep Prayer
Goddess soothe me to my core
Release all stress so it’s no more.
Bring peace and sleep unto me,
Make my dreams peaceful, blissful to see.
So mote it be.
Usually the Goddess answers with blissful sleep that soon follows.
May these insights support your path.
Blessed Be,
Moonwater

How Witches Let Go and Welcome Freedom – Ep. 146
“I don’t have enough time,” my friend, Audrey, said.
During our extended conversation, we explored different facets of how human beings deal with time. Even just saying “I’m busy” as a reflexive response can create extra stress. And that’s not necessary.
Here are three insights.
Your experience of the world is tinted by the words you speak in a habitual way. If you say, “I’m busy,” you can shut down yourself and a nearby family member or co-worker who tries to talk with you.
Your words can be a self-fulfilling prophecy. Saying, “I don’t have enough time” can raise your stress level. And you experience “not enough time.”
As witches, we know words have power. This is the reason we take care as we vocalize our spells.
The vibrations in your voice have energy that go out into the world to do your work. So, your words have a magick of their own.
“Stop glorifying and victimizing being ‘busy’ and ‘overwhelmed.’ [Instead, focus on] three rhythms of a Sustainable Life: Intensity, Flow, and Replenishment.” – Christine Arylo
The idea is to design each day to have flow and replenishment (recovery, rest). Instead of saying “busy,” consider saying something like, “I’m having the next half-hour be about ‘intensity.’ After I finish this draft of my resume, I’ll come find you. We can take a break together.”
Imagine taking a break from the “intensity.”
Perhaps, in this way, you will have energy for casting circle that evening.
After you cast your Circle and you’re doing a ritual inside said Circle, your perception of time changes. With my own coven, while being in Circle, in between the worlds, time seems to stop or slow down.
Have you completed a ritual, taken down your Circle, then seen a clock? Many of us are startled. We exclaim, “Where did the time go?”
While in Circle, you did not experience time the way a person outside your Circle perceives time.
It’s true that mundane life appears to keep speeding up. Many of us are glued to our smartphones. The constant interruptions squeeze us. We feel a bombardment of distractions.
Give yourself time to do ritual and step out of the time of extreme distractions.
Imagine this. When Goddess looks on us, She does not merely see us in this moment or even in this one lifetime. The Goddess has a perception of our essence which continues from incarnation to the next incarnation. Imagine that you could pause and step outside a current pain or difficulty at this moment in your life.
What if you could extend your perception to the level of the Goddess’s view? Imagine that the Goddess (and the God) view your whole lifetime as a process, or even as a classroom, where you’re growing and becoming deeper as a spiritual being.
As human beings, we see time as linear. We think of birth to death.
Instead, the Goddess and the God see all of time. They see infinite realities.
This is the reason They are good at guiding us. They know where we need to go.
With Their guidance and our own spellwork, we can rise in our spiritual journey.
This incarnation is like a river that feeds into an ocean. Our journey across time is like the vastness of an ocean. An ocean has many currents. Invite the Goddess and God to support you and guide on your ocean journey through time.
May these insights support your path.

How Witches Shift to a Higher Level of Connection and Peace – Ep. 145
“I have to move,” my friend, Audrey, said. “I’m probably going to end up in an unsafe neighborhood.”
“What brings that up?” I asked.
“I just know it.”
This began a conversation in which Audrey projected a worst-case scenario.
She was full of dread.
The idea of dreading something is to “anticipate with great apprehension or fear (Oxford Languages).”
Here are three insights.
Many of us say, “My mind just brings up these terrible thoughts. How am I going to control that?”
The first step is to observe your thoughts. Then, you can become conscious of a new pattern to place into the situation.
Audrey said, “I’m probably going to end up in an unsafe neighborhood.”
Does she know that for certain? No.
What can she do?
She can preplan her “second thought.” She says, “I don’t know the future. I’ll do some research about apartment buildings that have rental prices I can manage.”
Rerunning negative thoughts can disable your spellwork. You need to let go of these thoughts.
If you overly focus on the negative, your magick to counter the event will be useless. It won’t work, plain and simple.
A first step is to preplan your second thought. At least, shift to a neutral focus. It’s true that you do not know the future.
We’ll also need to look at patterns around feeling powerless about the future.
At certain times, I have felt powerless when someone I care about is making a bad decision. I realize that adults will do what they do. People seem to change only when they’re in so much pain that they feel “forced” into change.
So where does my personal power go? I need to direct my own perception and my own focus.
I have the power to choose to use my own tools for remaining calm and centered. I focus on deep breathing.
Deep breathing, known as belly breathing, can really help you release upset feelings.
Consider doing a ritual. Remember you are a witch, and you have the tools and the Gods by your side.
3 Ask the Gods for patience and space to hope.
I talk to the Gods daily. I ask for calm and peace in my mind. I also ask Them to intervene on my behalf.
How do you relate with the Gods?
The Gods will always be present whatever happens. Knowing this gives me hope that things will always work out for the best. “For the best” may not mean “I feel comfortable.” I look on our time here on Earth as a classroom with lessons for our spirit.
The Gods are here to help us achieve our greatest goals and desires. Ask for Their help. And, do your part with spellwork, meditation and more. If you want a new job, you’ll need to put out resumes and go in for job interviews. For example, I know someone who rehearsed with nine friends in preparation for an important job interview. (In fact, in my online course Beyond the Law of Attraction to Real Magic(k): Manifest What You Want, Release Limiting Beliefs, Connect with the Goddess… I refer to Ask, Believe, Take Action, Receive.)
I realize that I do not know the future. I can have faith that the Goddess guides me, and She sees the big picture. Knowing this gives me space to feel hope for better outcomes with situations that seem so dark.
Some chapters of life are “transition-chapters.” When you get to the other side, you’ll experience new blessings.
May these insights support your life path.
Blessed Be,
Moonwater

How Witches Deal with Waiting for Life Changing News – Ep. 144
“Intense! The world can be so cold,” Adrianna, a friend, said.
“I hear you,” I replied.
This started a conversation about how to carry on and hold your calm when you’re confronted with rude and even cruel people.
Here are three insights.
It’s possible to change how you feel by consciously using your breath. You can work up to a 1:2 ratio of breathing. You can breathe in for one count and breathe out with two counts. You work up to two counts (inhale) and four counts (exhale). When you do this, make sure you are using your belly not your upper chest. This will help you destress and relax. Next, you can shift your mind away from ruminating.
Perhaps, you see some cruel people doing something terrible as depicted in a news broadcast. Maybe, you react and feel anger. Then you practice deep breathing. A next step can be to develop your personal sentence that guides you to shift your thoughts and feelings.
Here’s an example:
“We always do the best we can by the light we have to see by.” – Julia Cameron
You might think that misguided people are in the dark. Maybe in that moment, you might feel a stirring of compassion.
Sometimes, you may find misguided people in your own family, maybe some individual who fails to demonstrate kindness and caring. In this case, I invite you to seek your own tribe (perhaps, your coven) to come together in shared compassion and strength. Friends and coven mates are a great resource of strength. You can also turn to the Gods for peace.
Years ago, I had certain neighbors who were also Wiccan. Visiting them was like taking in a breath of fresh air in a lovely oasis. I found that I could rejuvenate when visiting those dear friends of mine.
Another example of friendship and having points of light in this world occured when my husband recently needed to prepare for a job interview. He has a circle of friends (9 people) who all helped him rehearse and prepare. He personally knows that there are caring people in the world.
We need to reach out, develop, and nurture friendships. This includes relating to the God and Goddess.
The God and Goddess smile as we lift our hearts with loving friendships. And They are there to lean on when trouble hits us in the face. So don’t forget to talk to Them. They are quite understanding, and They will lend you Their strength.
May these insights support your journey.

How Witches Create Peace in Your Day – Every Day – Ep. 143
Lammas
On August 1st, Lammas, also called Lughnasadh (the Celtic first day of autumn), starts the first of the three Wiccan harvest festivals. Known as the time when the God starts to wane in his power, Lammas, or “loaf-mass,” celebrates the first grains harvested that season. During the Lammas Sabbat, Wiccans offer up the first sheaf of the harvest to the God and Goddess to thank them for their blessing of the harvest yield.
Wiccans love to feast, and this is the best time of year to do it! Since grains are a prominent part of the Lammas Sabbat, we celebrate by making breads and other baked goods from the first wheat or corn produced. The different breads, beers, and other foods produced and consumed at this time remind us of the bounty that the Gods have given us.
Here’s wishing you the best on this Sabbat.
